Nelson Chen is the President of The Chen Agency in Fort Lee, New Jersey. He obtained his real estate salesperson’s license at the age of 18. Over the past thirty years he has distinguished himself as one of the most accomplished Realtors in the industry.
In 1998 the Eastern Bergen County Board of Realtors named Nelson as the Realtor of the Year. The Realtor of the Year award is one of the highest honors that the Board bestows upon its members. Criteria for selection include faithfulness and furtherance of the Realtor code of ethics, local Board involvement, State and National Association involvement, business accomplishments and community service involvement.
In 1998, 2002, 2003, 2007 through 2014 Nelson served as the President of the New Jersey Multiple Listing Service. He served an unprecedented 11 terms as President of the NJMLS, a multi-million dollar non-profit corporation that serves all of Bergen County and surrounding areas. It provides detailed listing information on properties to over 8000 member real estate agents. Nelson was a member of the NJMLS Board of Directors since 1995.
During this same time Nelson also served on the Board of Trustees of the NJ Association of Realtors Educational Foundation.This foundation awards academic scholarships to worthy New Jersey students. Nelson was a recipient of the scholarship in 1987 and 1988 while he was attending the Wharton Schoolof Business at the University of Pennsylvania. Nelson is a cum laude graduate of Wharton with a concentration in real estate and finance.
Closer to home, Nelson is very involved as an alumnus of the Elisabeth Morrow and Dwight-Englewood Schools, both in Englewood. He was the youngest member of the Dwight-Englewood School’s Board of Trustees for six years. As well, Nelson was one of the charter members of the Elisabeth Morrow School’s Alumni Committee.
In 2009 the Fort Lee Chamber of Commerce named Nelson as their Person of the Year in recognition of his business accomplishments, civic contributions and concern for the welfare of the community.
While actively involved in these community organizations Nelson has also garnered many business accolades. He has been a licensed real estate agent since 1986. In 1998 he was awarded Lifetime Membership in the NJ Association of Realtors Million Dollar Sales Club after having achieved the award for ten consecutive years and accumulating over $100 million in sales. Nelson’s career sales now exceed $500 million.

Lorna’s record breaking sales have earned her the NJ Association of Realtors Circle of Excellence award many times. She has been awarded the Gold Level designation, one of the most prestigious awards given by the state wide Realtor Association, on multiple occasions.
Lorna is a highly respected industry veteran. In 2002 she was appointed to serve as the chairperson of the Professional Standards Committee which regulates ethics and conducts arbitration hearings for the Eastern Bergen County Board of Realtors.
After working as the Regional Vice President and Director of Condominium and Co-opMarketing for Murphy Realty Better Homes & Gardens’ 23 offices in NewJersey in the 1980s, Lorna was recruited by Hartz Mountain Industries as theVice President of Residential Development. In this capacity she was responsible for the close-out of sales at Harmon Cove Towers in Secaucus and the pre-construction development of Independence Harbor in Edgewater, and The Top Condominium in Maplewood.
In 1991 Lorna returned to local brokerage. In 1997 as the Chief Executive Officer, she founded The ChenAgency with her son Nelson. Her sphere of influence includes clients from around the world, making her a true international power broker. Lorna is fluent in three Chinese language dialects. With a staff of 28, The Chen Agency has established itself as one the highest producing offices in the area.

A few months ago we purchased apartment #309 at 6 Horizon Road in Fort Lee. Now that the hectic period is over, I asked Yuliya Shinkorenko for the name of her Manager, as I wanted an opportunity to express directly to you how pleased I was with Yuliya's handling of our purchase.
Finding the right building and apartment in the new area is a challenge. We are lucky to have been introduced to Yuliya, who is undoubtedly the most professional and caring Realtor I have dealt with. She is the one who clients would want on their side, and she the one who they will be recommending to others.
From the first introductory phone call, to subsequent showings, to the closing I found Yuliya to be very knowledgeable, factual, prompt and reliable. Yuliya took the time to understand the specifics of what we were looking for, presented a great apartment to us, and guided us through dealings with Horizon Co-op. Yuliya’s attention to detail and experience were evident when she reviewed the Contract of Sale and noticed that “Inspection Contingency” clause was missing. This was a simple oversight quickly rectified by our attorney, but it could have become a more serious issue if inspection uncovered significant problems. At all times I felt that Yulia was truly our agent, being both accommodating and looking out after our interests.

We are writing to
express our complete satisfaction with Sophie and James Kang as our realtor
agents. Throughout the entire process, this husband and wife team was
professional, and motivated. We always felt as though we were their only
impressed us from the first day they both came to our home on a Sunday evening.
James had to return home to attend to the care of their young children and ask
if we were comfortable to have Sophie guide us in the process of buying a new
home. We had our notepad full of questions and she gracefully provided us with
outstanding advice. She gave us a packet of information representing your
company and how she works with her clients. In our decision to select an agent,

I thought it would be appropriate at this time
for you to be aware of how Geri Sheahan, one of your sales associates, conducted
her self in the sale of my cooperative apartment.
It was a little over 3 months from the time we
hired your agency to sell our apartment that the sale was completed.
It was without saying that Geri acted in a most
professional manner, acting as our agent. It wasn’t that a week would go by,
that we would get a call from Geri, covering all the sales activity of the
preceding weeks and week.
She was on top of all that went on and going on
consternating so no stone was unturned.
Through this vigilance and persistence, our
apartment was sold and on Thursday August 25, the apartment will be closed on,
to the satisfaction of both buyer and seller.
